In October 2025, the Intinauta made history by bringing the world’s largest annual global hackathon to Huánuco, Peru. Acting as the official co-organizer, Intinauta successfully bridged local talent with global space exploration initiatives, aiming to decentralize science and technology access in the country.

Historical Statistics & Impact:

  • Global Ranking: Ranked #38 Worldwide out of 500 local events.
  • Latin America Ranking: Ranked #7 in LATAM out of 124 locations.
  • National Ranking: Ranked #2 in Peru out of 13 locations, achieving an impressive 436 registered participants (standing right behind the capital, Lima).
  • Local Talent: Hosted dozens of outstanding local teams, including global nominees like Lines of Impact, Kernel, and Terrastep.

We gathered an elite panel of Peruvian scientists, engineers, and science communicators to evaluate and inspire our local innovators:

  • Herbert Silva: Engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center.
  • Cristian Ferradas Alva: Associate Researcher at NASA.
  • Sergio Santa María: Principal Investigator at NASA.
  • Gonzalo Cucho-Padin: Associate Researcher at NASA.
  • Aldo Bartra García: Renowned Science Communicator (Creator of El Robot de Platón).

The event also featured exclusive masterclasses and bootcamps led by NASA JPL researchers like Ruth Quispe, and former Global Winners such as Marco Carrasco Villanueva, Rocío Lizárraga, and Raquel Sánchez.

This massive endeavor was made possible alongside our institutional venue host, Colegio de Ingenieros del Perú – Sede Huánuco, and the crucial backing of our sponsors: Universidad de Huánuco (UDH), Colegio San Agustín, Diario AHORA, and La Patronal.
